Ok let's get one thing straight from now on, I keep referring to the 27 years not because I am so happy and ecstatic to be but in all honesty it just made an interesting heading, don't you think? I have just been reading this book by John Bird titled Change Your Life, he is the guy who started the street paper for the homeless called The Big Issue and I would recommend this read to anyone trying to make changes in their life. I have found it very helpful in a way because he reflects on some of the things I myself have been thinking I need to turn my life around. One point on which I agree with him is on how the fear of making mistakes makes us inactive up to a point where we do not take or create opportunities that present themselves to us. I have always loved this quote from one of my former teachers, "It's not a mistake to make a mistake, but it's a mistake to repeat a mistake". Mistakes are how we learn, develop and grow and never be afraid to make a mistake because you will be denying yourself the opportunity to learn from them.
I have now started looking for graduate traineeship places after I graduate next year but it's such a time consuming thing with all the CV preparation and application form filling but I am sure it is all going to be worth it in the end. I know where I want to be and the key now is to select the companies which will take me exactly there. I have to be quite selective at the companies I am going to apply to but I do not want to limit my scope though so I am willing to make compromises if the benefits and starting salaries are attractive enough.
I am starting my job as a pizza delivery driver tonight and it's quite a harrowing task driving during peak hour because there is so much traffic on the roads, I think I will have to get the last delivery which will take me closer to 6pm when the traffic gets lighter. Hopefully I am getting my navigation unit today which will make finding my delivery addresses so much easier and quicker as well. Wish me luck tonight and till we meet again I just have a few words for you all dear readers, "carpe diem"....
