I was recently at an open day organized by a potential employer in the North-East town of Darlington and I must say I was impressed. It is a pharmaceutical company and I admit I did not know as much as I thought I did before the event, and it has been a real eye opener as far as what I would want from a career. I learnt a lot about the company and met a jolly group of people at the same time and I would like to believe that long lasting contacts have been made. Having said that I am seriously considering joining the second largest pharmaceutical company in the world and because I attended yesterday's event I will qualify through to the telephone interview stage.
That said I have to come back to reality and the present(as opposed to looking into the future) because a lot of work still need to be done to ensure that I come out with the degree I am hoping for. I have started working on my final year project and its been more of a roller-coaster ride than anything else.One day I feel I am now in the groove and everything is heading in the right direction, and the next I feel I haven't quite understood what I am supposed to be doing and yet time keeps moving and I get panicky coz Im like " am I going to finish it on time or what". That said I got four courses with exams in January to think about as well and the past week hasn't gone as smoothly as I would have wanted it to so I ended up missing a hell lot of lectures which I have to cover up the lost ground, they are quite interesting courses so im finding it quite enlightening and studying is not forced at all. Enough of the academia and moving on to the next juicy bit(yeah right wish it was as juicy as I'd have it).
Ok moving on,there hasn't been much happening on the social scene apart from an unplanned night out last Wednesday with my homies Mr Skillz and Martin I must admit I am beginning to enjoy these impromptu binges ha ha ha. Today could see another one of them unplanned outings(afraid this one is planned tho) but yeah I havent been going out as much as I'd want to coz I work friday and saturday nights and then on sundays I just have to catch up on some reading(but dont get much done thanks to my indiscipline and CSI Sunday but im working on it lol).Yeah and of course sunday is the highlight of my week coz its football day as well so I get to have my weekly dose of physical activity(and always end up over doing it too). Had plans to go catch a movie last sunday but they got cancelled later in the day but it was all good coz I had some reading to do.
