New is the year and new are the aspirations....

It's that time of the year again (or should I say same time, different year), the time we make plans of what we want to have achieved by the close of 2009. The year 2008 is gone, never to come around again, but will only exist on paper and in our memories. The good and the bad, the successes and the failures, battles won and battles lost, the friends we made and the friends we lost, all confined now to the past and into history. That being said a part of 2008 will always be an influence in our lives, maybe that is the year we met that special someone in our lives, or the year we got our dream job, or the year we lost someone we hold dear, that way it will forever have a hold on our lives. The goal is not to dwell on the past but to look into the future with a renewed vigour and a sense of bravery, continually telling ourselves 2009 will not dish out anything we will not be able to stomach. Easier said than done I hear you say, and of course I agree with you, because man's greatest fear is the fear of the unknown. Not knowing where I will be in 6 month's time, or this time around next year, that is my greatest fear. It make me feel so vulnerable, that feeling you get at the realisation that I am in control of so little in my life, that is how I feel sometimes.

Having said that I have a feeling this is going to be my year. I finish my first degree this year and my graduation is pencilled for July and who knows what is going to happen from there. I know what I want to do career wise and I am not going to settle for anything less. I have already put into motion plan B, which will come into effect in the event that I do not get a graduate training job in Automation or Control systems. It is a bit too early so I will not go into much detail about this plan but will keep you informed.

Ok now the resolutions part, I have made a number of resolutions this year but for personal reasons I will keep these under wraps. It is exams time again and always a stressful time for me but as always I am confident I will get through these last major exams. An update on the pizza delivery place guy who has messed up my life as I knew it only a couple of months ago, I have filed a claim with the Employment tribunal citing unfair dismissal and other issues against the employer. I am sure I will win the case because a number of employment rights were infringed upon and I remain confident the tribunal will rule in my favour.

Anyway I just had to make this first post of the New Year, I do not have too much to say as of now because I got my project report to work on and so I will gracefully make my exit and hope we speak again soon. This time around I will leave you a new year's message and it goes something like this; "New is the year, new are the hopes & aspirations, new is the resolution, new are the spirits & forever my warm wishes for you. Have a promising and fulfilling new year"...TFZ
